Dalaman Airport to Hisarönü & Ovacık
Hisarönü and Ovacık are about 60 km from Dalaman Airport, above Ölüdeniz. Cheapest is Havaş or MUTTAŞ to Fethiye (300 TRY) plus a dolmuş; fastest is the 3,500 TRY cooperative taxi or a booked car.

Hisarönü and Ovacık share a ridge above Ölüdeniz, a short climb out of Fethiye. The airport coach drops you in Fethiye for 300 lira and a dolmuş does the hill, while the airport's taxi cooperative charges a published flat price for the car. Villa groups have one more reason to book ahead: the lanes up there are hard to find in the dark.

Buying tickets in Dalaman
Dalaman is a resort airport with no train or metro. Public transport is the Havaş shuttle bus, which meets flights outside arrivals and runs to Fethiye and Marmaris otogar (bus stations) roughly every 90 minutes; the municipal Muttaş bus also serves those centres. There is no travel card. Buy your seat from the Havaş desk or on board, where card payment is normally accepted. For villages and hotels off the main route, a pre-booked private transfer or a metered taxi is the realistic option.
Taxi scams & safety in Dalaman
Because most arrivals are package tourists, the main risk is taxi drivers quoting inflated flat fares for the long runs to Fethiye, Ölüdeniz or Marmaris. Use the official taxi rank outside the terminal and ask for the meter, or pre-book a fixed-price transfer so the total is agreed in writing. Ignore anyone approaching you inside the hall with a car. Confirm your name on any booked transfer driver's board before getting in, and never hand over your passport to hold a fare.
Step-free access in Dalaman
Dalaman's terminal has been adapted for wheelchair users. The onward coach leg is less certain, so plan that part before you fly.
- The ground handling company supplies a wheelchair and a member of staff when needed, and an ambulift takes passengers who cannot leave their wheelchair to and from the aircraft. Tell your airline you need assistance when you book.
- The help point is in front of the departures entrance (internal line 1245). The information desks in the departure and arrival halls can also call assistance. The main airport number is +90 252 792 55 55.
- Inside, the terminal is step-free: kerb height differences have been removed, and there are lifts inside and outside, accessible check-in counters, a dedicated security lane, dedicated passport booths and accessible toilets with emergency pull cords.
- A tactile guide path runs from the accessible drop-off point at departures to information, ticket sales, check-in and the toilets.
- The airport publishes no accessibility details for the Havaş or Muttaş coaches. Check with the coach operator before you rely on them, or book an adapted private transfer.
Getting from DLM to Hisarönü & Ovacık
Two villages, one ridge
Hisarönü and Ovacık run into each other on the hill road above Ölüdeniz, roughly 60 km from Dalaman Airport. Ovacık comes first as you climb out of Fethiye; Hisarönü, with its long strip of bars, restaurants and late-night clubs, is a little further on, and the road then drops down to the lagoon at Ölüdeniz. Plenty of visitors stay in villas or apartment blocks on side lanes, which affects how far a bus or dolmuş will actually take you.
The Fethiye change
No bus runs from the airport directly to Hisarönü. The budget route is Havaş to Fethiye and then the Ölüdeniz dolmuş. Havaş lists its Dalaman–Fethiye coach as calling at Dalaman, Göcek, Günlükbaşı and Adnan Menderes Bulvarı before the Fethiye intercity bus terminal, at 300 TRY with a journey time of about an hour. Under the Muğla metropolitan tariff in force since May 2026, the municipal MUTTAŞ bus charges the same 300 TRY on the same run, with more stops. Departures follow domestic arrivals, so there is no fixed timetable.
In Fethiye, the dolmuş that climbs to Hisarönü, Ovacık and down to Ölüdeniz runs throughout the day from around the otogar and the town centre, with the fare paid in cash to the driver. Tell the driver which part of the strip you want. One 2026 guide puts the bus-plus-dolmuş trip to Ölüdeniz at about 90–120 minutes, and Hisarönü comes a few minutes before that.
Which village, which stop
Coming up from Fethiye, the road reaches Ovacık first and then runs on into Hisarönü before the descent to Ölüdeniz. The two blur together, and many apartment complexes advertise themselves with whichever name sells better. Before you board the dolmuş, check your booking for the nearest landmark, a supermarket, a named bar or the main crossroads, and tell the driver that rather than just the village name. For villas on the lanes towards Kayaköy or up the hillside, the dolmuş can only set you down on the main road, and the last stretch may be a steep walk.
Cooperative taxis and their fixed list
The taxi rank at Dalaman is run by the Muğla/Dalaman Airport Taxi Cooperative, which works from a published list of fixed fares per car rather than the meter. According to that list as reproduced in a September 2026 guide, Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz are 3,500 TRY, the Letoonia and Hillside area 3,250 TRY, and Fethiye centre 3,000 TRY, paid at the destination. That is useful because it removes the meter argument entirely: you know the price at the rank. Ovacık is not listed separately; it sits between Fethiye and Hisarönü, so confirm with the driver whether the Hisarönü fare applies.
Villa groups and private cars
Groups heading to a villa up a side lane are the people who most benefit from booking ahead. Transfer brokers quote this route at roughly €54–75 per vehicle, with a sedan for three at about €59 and a six-seat minivan at about €69 on one aggregator for a 2026 date. Send the villa's exact location or a map pin with the booking, because "Hisarönü" covers a lot of hillside and precise directions spare you a long walk with suitcases. Child seats can be requested on most booking sites, which a taxi from the rank cannot promise.
When the last Havaş has gone
Hisarönü's busiest arrivals are UK flights, many of which land in the evening. Because the Havaş and MUTTAŞ coaches are timed to domestic flights, an international passenger landing late may find no coach about to leave. Then the choice is the cooperative taxi at 3,500 TRY for the car or a transfer booked in advance. With company, either works out at a sensible price per head; on your own, consider whether a short wait for the next domestic-linked coach is possible.
Small print
- Havaş and MUTTAŞ charge 220 TRY if you get off at Göcek, should you be staying there instead.
- The dolmuş does not take euros; carry small lira notes.
- Taxi fares on the cooperative list are per car, not per person.
