Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport ground transport

AGP funnels most of Andalucía's holiday traffic through three linked terminals, with T3 handling almost all arrivals. The cheapest way out is the Renfe Cercanías C-1 line, whose station connects to T3 by a covered walkway: eastbound trains reach Málaga Centro-Alameda in about 12 minutes for €1.80, westbound trains call at Torremolinos, Benalmádena-Arroyo de la Miel and terminate at Fuengirola (~34 min, €2.70), every 20 minutes for most of the day. For destinations off the rail line, Avanza (Portillo) express coaches leave from the T3 arrivals kerb to Marbella (~45 min, from ~€6.15) and on to Estepona, and Alsa runs a handful of daily buses east to Nerja (~€5.65). Metered taxis wait outside arrivals — expect roughly €25-30 into Málaga and a €5.50 airport supplement on every fare — while pre-booked private transfers quote a fixed price to the door and car-hire desks sit in the ground-transport centre for anyone driving the AP-7. This guide sets out price, time and frequency for each popular destination so you can pick before you land.

Getting around

Step-free access in Málaga

Both the train and the city buses work here, which gives you a real choice.

  • The C1 local train (Malaga to Fuengirola, calling at the airport) has wheelchair access to the train and lifts to the platforms. Both Malaga metro lines are accessible in the same way.
  • City buses board through the double doors in the middle of the vehicle; tell the driver and they will lower the platform. There are marked wheelchair areas with belts inside.
