Dubai International Airport ground transport
Dubai International is the world's busiest international airport, just east of the old city centre. Terminals 1 and 3 connect directly to the Red Line metro for a fast, cheap ride on a Nol card, while metered RTA taxis (with a fixed airport surcharge) and pre-booked transfers cover the resort districts door-to-door. Note the metro isn't 24-hour and starts late on Sundays, and Terminal 2 has no metro. Fares here are converted to euros at about 1 EUR ≈ 3.95 AED. Step-free access in Dubai
The metro is the strong option here, and it is worth knowing that before you join a taxi queue.
- Red Line metro is fully step-free. The Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 stations have lifts to the ticketing, departures and arrivals levels, every station is wheelchair accessible, and trains carry designated wheelchair spaces with marked priority seating.
- Tactile guidance paths run through the stations for visually impaired passengers.
- Wheelchair accessible taxis can be requested at the airport, but the wait can be up to an hour. If you need one, request it early rather than on arrival at the rank — or take the metro, which needs no booking at all.
