How we check fares and times

Where the numbers come from

Fares and journey times are taken from the organisation that actually sets them — the airport rail operator, the city transit authority, the published taxi tariff — rather than from booking aggregators or other travel sites. Where a route page makes a specific claim about a fare, a frequency or a last train, the source for that claim is listed at the bottom of the page with the date it was checked.

Taxi and private-transfer prices are the exception: those are ranges, not fixed tariffs, and they move with traffic, time of day and demand. We give the band a traveller should expect rather than a single figure, and we say when a supplement applies.

Currency

Prices are stored and shown in the currency you will actually pay in at that airport. A London train fare reads in pounds, a New York cab in dollars. The switcher at the top converts everything into your own currency for comparison, but the stored figure is the native one — so what you read is what the operator charges, not a number that has been through two conversions.

How current this is

Each route page carries its own last-updated date, and that date comes from when the page’s content actually changed — not from when the site was last rebuilt. A page that has not been touched since July says so. Pages whose fares have been verified against their sources also show the date of that check.

Operators change fares without notice, and some do it more often than we can re-check every route. If a figure here and the operator’s own page disagree, the operator is right. Treat what you read here as what to expect, and confirm before you buy.

What we are not

This site does not sell tickets and is not affiliated with any airport or transport operator. Some pages link to booking partners for private transfers; those links do not change which option we recommend, and the cheapest realistic option is named as the cheapest even when nothing is earned from it.

Corrections

If a fare, a journey time or a platform detail here is wrong, it is worth telling us — those are the errors that cost a traveller money or a train. Corrections are made to the page itself and the check date is moved forward, so you can see when it was last held against its sources.
