Singapore Changi Airport ground transport
Singapore Changi is one of the world's busiest and best-loved airports, about 20 km east of the centre across four terminals plus the Jewel complex. The driverless MRT East-West Line runs from beneath Terminals 2/3 to downtown for under €2 (change at Tanah Merah), metered taxis and Grab reach Marina Bay in 25–35 minutes, and there's one direct city bus. Step-free access in Singapore
Singapore is about as good as this gets, and you can travel independently without arranging anything in advance.
- Every one of the 159 MRT and LRT stations has a barrier-free route from a station entrance through to the platform, using lifts, ramps and tactile guidance. Wide fare gates are fitted for wheelchair users.
- Newer and upgraded trains carry at least two dedicated wheelchair bays each.
- At Changi itself, all terminals have barrier-free access, lifts and accessible toilets, and wheelchair assistance is free.
