Kuala Lumpur International Airport ground transport

KUL has two terminals — KLIA Terminal 1 (full-service airlines) and klia2 (the low-cost/AirAsia terminal), linked by a 3-minute train hop. The KLIA Ekspres (a non-stop ERL service) reaches KL Sentral in ~28 min from T1 (~39 min from klia2) for RM55 (~€11), running roughly every 20 minutes from ~05:00 to ~00:40; the KLIA Transit runs the same track but stops at Salak Tinggi, Putrajaya, Bandar Tasik Selatan and TBS en route. Budget travellers take airport coaches (SkyBus, Aerobus, Airport Coach) to KL Sentral for RM10-15 (~€2-3) in about 60-75 min. For door-to-door travel, Grab ride-hail is hugely popular and costs ~RM75-100 off-peak (~€15-20, more at peak), while fixed-fare coupon taxis from the arrivals-hall Airport Limo counter run ~RM75 budget / ~RM102 premier. Note that nearly all rail journeys terminate at KL Sentral, so most city destinations need an onward MRT, LRT or monorail hop. This guide compares price, time and frequency for every popular destination.
