Buying tickets in Sydney
Sydney's Airport Link train runs from the Domestic and International terminal stations into the city. Pay by tapping an Opal card or a contactless credit/debit card or phone at the gates — no paper ticket required. Taxi scams & safety in Sydney
Licensed taxis wait at the official ranks outside each terminal and are metered; expect roughly AU$45-65 to the city centre, more in peak traffic. Uber, DiDi and Ola operate from clearly marked rideshare pickup areas — follow the airport signage rather than meeting a driver at the curb. Ignore anyone inside the terminal offering a ride, as legitimate drivers do not tout for passengers there. Always use the metered rank or a booked app trip, and check the fare estimate before you get in.

- Both the Domestic and International stations on the T8 Airport & South Line are accessible by lift, so the journey is step-free from terminal to platform.
- At the Domestic terminals (T2 and T3), take the lift near baggage carousel 1.

- T8 services run every day between about 05:00 and midnight.
