CUN is Latin America's busiest leisure hub, spread across three main passenger terminals (T2, T3 and T4) with no rail connection of any kind. The workhorse public option is the ADO coach: it leaves from stops just outside each terminal's arrivals and runs to the downtown ADO station (~120 MXN / ~€6), Playa del Carmen (~208-270 MXN / ~€10-14) and Tulum (~300-400 MXN / ~€15-20). Beyond the coach, the choice is between a pre-booked private transfer (a van waiting for you with a fixed, agreed price), the official airport taxi (fixed zone fares sold at a counter — convenient but among the most expensive in Mexico, and steeper still if you just walk up to one at the kerb), a shared shuttle van that fills up before it leaves, or a rental car for driving Highway 307 down the coast, where a couple of toll booths add to the fuel bill. One thing every guide repeats: Uber and other ride-hail apps are not allowed to collect passengers at CUN, and drivers who try face fines, so do not plan around an app pickup.
