Since October 2022 the airport has had its own metro station, which changed the accessibility picture here considerably.
- The M4 metro runs from the airport to Kadikoy on the Asian side. The station sits next to the terminal, about a five-minute walk from Arrivals, and is accessible.
- Before the metro opened, the coach was the only realistic option; it is now the fallback rather than the default.
If you are crossing to the European side, factor in the interchange — the metro gets you to Kadikoy, and the onward leg is a separate journey.
