Buying tickets in Geneva
Before leaving Geneva Airport, grab your free Unireso ticket from the machine in the baggage-reclaim hall: it is valid 80 minutes across the "Tout Genève" (zone 10) network, covering every TPG bus and tram and the train to Genève-Cornavin, six minutes away. Keep your boarding pass, as inspectors on TPG or CFF services require it as proof you arrived that day. Avoid anyone soliciting rides inside the terminal. Uber operates in Geneva, dispatching licensed drivers from a designated pickup area rather than the taxi rank; Bolt has minimal presence. Step-free access in Geneva
The railway station is built into the terminal, one level below arrivals, so the first stage is easy — the variable is boarding the train itself.
- Genève-Aéroport station is reached by lift from the arrivals level, a covered indoor walk of about five to seven minutes from baggage reclaim.
- SBB/CFF and Léman Express run assistance services for passengers with reduced mobility, but at the airport station wheelchair users should book boarding and alighting help in advance rather than expecting it on the platform.
- Genève-Cornavin, the main station and the interchange for onward trains, has a step-free route between the platforms and the exits via ramps, escalators and lifts.
