Copenhagen Airport is one of the best-connected airports in Europe: both the Metro and the mainline railway share the terminal complex, so you rarely wait long for either. The Metro M2 (raised 'Lufthavnen' station, a 5-minute indoor walk from Terminal 3 arrivals) reaches Kongens Nytorv in ~13 min and København H area destinations in under 20, running every 4–6 minutes by day and around the clock. Beneath Terminal 3 is the airport railway station, where DSB regional trains reach København H (Copenhagen Central) in ~13 min and continue to Roskilde and across Zealand, while the Øresundståg service runs directly over the Øresund Bridge to Malmö Central in Sweden in ~25 min and up the coast to Helsingør. A single ticket covers metro, train and bus for the same journey, and a 3-zone ticket (36 DKK, ~€5) covers the airport-to-central-Copenhagen trip whichever mode you pick. Airport taxis at the Terminal 3 rank charge a broadly fixed ~250–350 DKK to the centre; card payment is universal. Pre-booked private transfers and car rental (desks in Terminal 3 arrivals) suit heavier trips such as the cruise terminal at Oceankaj, which has no rail link, or the cross-border run to Malmö. Step-free access in Copenhagen
Copenhagen is among the easiest airports in Europe to leave without steps, because the metro was built that way from the start.
- M2 metro connects Terminal 3 directly to the city centre. Every station is designed for step-free access with lifts, tactile paving, platform screen doors and level boarding between train and platform.
- Trains have multi-purpose spaces for wheelchairs, pushchairs and bicycles, with visual and audio announcements.
- The airport's own station is Kobenhavns Lufthavn. Kastrup station is a residential stop on the same line and is not the airport, despite the name being widely used for it.
The one weak point is lift breakdowns. At deep stations such as Marmorkirken, or complex interchanges like Kongens Nytorv, a failed lift can block step-free access entirely — worth having an alternative station in mind.
