Naples International Airport ground transport

Capodichino sits inside the city in a way few European airports do — seven kilometres from the historic centre, with residential streets on the approach. There is no rail link and none is needed for the short hop: the Alibus shuttle leaves from directly outside arrivals, costs €5, and runs to Piazza Garibaldi (Napoli Centrale) in about 20 to 30 minutes before continuing to Piazza Municipio by the port in 35 to 40. The €5 ticket is integrated, valid 90 minutes across other urban services, which is worth knowing if your hotel needs a metro leg afterwards. What really shapes arrivals here is the fixed-fare system. Naples publishes binding predetermined taxi fares for a long list of destinations — supplements for airport pickup, night, holidays, luggage and radio booking are already inside the number. €21 to Napoli Centrale, €24 to Piazza Municipio, the port and the ZTL historic centre. It extends down the coast too: €125 to Sorrento, €145 to Positano, €155 to Amalfi, €160 to Ravello, one way per vehicle, with motorway tolls and a minivan supplement as the usual exceptions. Say tariffa predeterminata when you get in and the meter should not run. For the Sorrento peninsula the Curreri coach is the budget alternative, and for Pompeii the Circumvesuviana railway from Napoli Centrale does it cheaply once you are in town. Driving in Naples itself is not recommended for visitors — the historic centre is a restricted ZTL zone and parking is genuinely difficult.
