Palma de Mallorca Airport (Son Sant Joan) is the third-busiest airport in Spain and the beating heart of the island's summer tourism, so the transport question is really "which resort am I heading to?". For Palma itself, the EMT A1 bus leaves from opposite the arrivals hall every 12-15 minutes and reaches the city and Es Baluard in around 20 minutes for €5 cash (€3 by card). Resort travellers use the seasonal AEROTIB coaches run by TIB: the A11 links Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponsa and Peguera; the A32 heads north to Alcúdia, Playa de Muro and Can Picafort; the A42 serves Cala Millor and Sa Coma; the A51 runs to Campos with onward connections. These coaches mostly operate late March to October and time roughly to the flight peaks, so out of season you may need to route via Palma's Intermodal Station and change to an intercity line. Taxis wait at a rank directly outside arrivals and charge by meter with island-wide reference tariffs (roughly €20 to Palma, up to ~€90 for the eastern resorts). Pre-booked private transfers and shared shuttles are hugely popular here given how many arrivals are package holidaymakers with luggage and kids, and car hire is a major business at PMI for those exploring beyond one resort. Crucially, remember there is no rail link at the airport — the historic Sóller train and the Palma metro both begin in the city centre, not at PMI.
