Dalaman Airport to İçmeler
İçmeler is about 100 km west of Dalaman Airport, beyond Marmaris. Cheapest is Havaş to Marmaris (420 TRY) plus a local dolmuş; fastest is a booked car, about 1 hour 35 minutes.

İçmeler sits at the far end of Marmaris bay, so from Dalaman you are crossing the Gökova hills and then following the seafront for one more stretch. Havaş gets you to Marmaris for 420 lira and a dolmuş covers the last few kilometres. Shared shuttles and private cars go straight to your hotel, and they make the most sense for late arrivals.

Buying tickets in Dalaman
Dalaman is a resort airport with no train or metro. Public transport is the Havaş shuttle bus, which meets flights outside arrivals and runs to Fethiye and Marmaris otogar (bus stations) roughly every 90 minutes; the municipal Muttaş bus also serves those centres. There is no travel card. Buy your seat from the Havaş desk or on board, where card payment is normally accepted. For villages and hotels off the main route, a pre-booked private transfer or a metered taxi is the realistic option.
Taxi scams & safety in Dalaman
Because most arrivals are package tourists, the main risk is taxi drivers quoting inflated flat fares for the long runs to Fethiye, Ölüdeniz or Marmaris. Use the official taxi rank outside the terminal and ask for the meter, or pre-book a fixed-price transfer so the total is agreed in writing. Ignore anyone approaching you inside the hall with a car. Confirm your name on any booked transfer driver's board before getting in, and never hand over your passport to hold a fare.
Step-free access in Dalaman
Dalaman's terminal has been adapted for wheelchair users. The onward coach leg is less certain, so plan that part before you fly.
- The ground handling company supplies a wheelchair and a member of staff when needed, and an ambulift takes passengers who cannot leave their wheelchair to and from the aircraft. Tell your airline you need assistance when you book.
- The help point is in front of the departures entrance (internal line 1245). The information desks in the departure and arrival halls can also call assistance. The main airport number is +90 252 792 55 55.
- Inside, the terminal is step-free: kerb height differences have been removed, and there are lifts inside and outside, accessible check-in counters, a dedicated security lane, dedicated passport booths and accessible toilets with emergency pull cords.
- A tactile guide path runs from the accessible drop-off point at departures to information, ticket sales, check-in and the toilets.
- The airport publishes no accessibility details for the Havaş or Muttaş coaches. Check with the coach operator before you rely on them, or book an adapted private transfer.
Getting from DLM to İçmeler
Over the hills to the bay
İçmeler is the quieter neighbour of Marmaris, a resort at the western end of the same bay, about 8 km round the seafront from Marmaris town. From Dalaman Airport the road runs west through Ortaca and Köyceğiz, over the pine-covered Gökova pass and down into Marmaris, and then along the shore to İçmeler. Booking sites put the whole trip at roughly 95–105 km and about 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes by car. It is a pretty drive, with the lake at Köyceğiz and the view down to the bay at the end, but it is also long enough that the choice of transport matters.
Havaş to Marmaris, then the dolmuş
The cheapest way is two-stage. Havaş runs an airport coach to Marmaris that calls at Dalaman, Ortaca, Köyceğiz and Gökova before reaching Marmaris; the operator lists the fare at 420 TRY and the journey at about 90 minutes. Havaş says the service runs for all domestic flights, so departures are tied to domestic arrivals rather than a clock-face timetable. If you have come in on an international flight, ask at the information desk where the Havaş coach is loading and which departure you can catch.
From Marmaris, İçmeler is a short ride on the municipal dolmuş that shuttles along the bay road between the two resorts. It is a flat per-person fare; one 2026 guide says it can be paid with a Muğla Kentkart or a contactless bank card, but we could not find the current lira amount published, so check the sign in the windscreen or ask the driver. A taxi from Marmaris to İçmeler is the other way to finish if you have heavy bags.
Shared shuttle or own car?
Between the bus and a private car sits the shared shuttle. Suntransfers sells a shared shuttle bus from Dalaman to İçmeler from about €13 per person, with an "express" version with fewer stops from about €16; both allow one bag each, and the multi-stop version takes around 2 hours 20 minutes because it drops other passengers along the way. A private car for up to four is listed from about €55 and a minivan for up to eight from about €62.50 on the same site, and that removes the change in Marmaris completely. For a couple the shuttle is the middle ground; for a family, the private minivan is barely more than four shuttle seats.
Taxi from the rank
Dalaman's airport rank is run by a taxi cooperative that works from a fixed price list for the main resorts rather than the meter. A 2026 guide that reproduces part of the list gives Fethiye at 3,000 TRY and Hisarönü or Ölüdeniz at 3,500 TRY, but we could not find the İçmeler figure. Going on distance alone, İçmeler is further than any of those; applying the Muğla meter tariff to about 100 km gives something like 4,100–5,200 TRY, which is more than a pre-booked car costs. If you do take a taxi, ask for the price before loading the boot and confirm whether it is per car (it should be).
Landing late from the UK
Much of İçmeler's custom arrives on evening and night flights from Britain. The Havaş coach is timed to domestic flights, so late international arrivals cannot count on one being ready to leave, and the Marmaris dolmuş will not be running all night. The practical answer for anything after about 22:00 is a pre-booked transfer, which is flight-tracked and priced up front, or a cooperative taxi at the rank with the fare agreed first. Many İçmeler hotels sell their own transfer as well; it is worth comparing the hotel's price with the booking sites, and asking whether it waits for delayed flights.
Three things to sort at the airport
- Have lira for the dolmuş or a contactless card; drivers on short municipal routes do not take euros.
- Write down your hotel's name in Turkish spelling; İçmeler has several similarly named apartment blocks.
- If the Havaş coach is full, ask staff when the next one leaves before deciding on a taxi.
