Buying tickets in Prague
Václav Havel Airport has no metro; take DPP bus 119 (to Nádraží Veleslavín metro line A) or 100 (to Zličín, line B). A 90-minute DPP ticket costs 50 CZK on paper, or 46 CZK in the PID Lítačka app (2026), and covers the bus plus metro and trams. Buy from machines or the yellow terminal kiosks, or use the app; contactless works. Validate paper tickets in the yellow machine the moment you board the bus. Important: the separate Airport Express (AE) to the main station is not covered and costs 200 CZK.
Taxi scams & safety in Prague
Prague airport transfers carry real risk. Drivers who approach you inside arrivals routinely quote 1,500-2,500 CZK, two to three times the fair price; a legitimate ride to the centre is around 600-800 CZK. Uber holds the official airport taxi concession, but the cheapest and safest move is to open Bolt (or Uber) in the arrivals hall and walk to the marked ride-hail pickup. Never take an unsolicited "official" taxi. On public transport, ride only with a validated ticket, as inspectors issue steep fines.
Step-free access in Prague

Some arrivals simply call for a seat and a boot for the luggage, and here the castle's proximity pays off again.
