Tenerife South Airport to Golf del Sur
Golf del Sur is about 9 km from Tenerife South Airport. TITSA bus 415 gets there in 10–15 minutes for about €2.45; a metered taxi takes roughly 15 minutes and costs about €18–25.

Few airport transfers in Spain are shorter than this one. Golf del Sur sits on the coast just west of the runway, so the drive is over almost before the seatbelt clicks. The catch is that the only direct bus is an hourly local, and a lot of visitors arrive with golf bags that do not suit it. Here is how the bus, the rank and the pre-booked options compare.

Buying tickets in Tenerife
Tenerife has no rail at all, so everything runs on TITSA's green guaguas. Buy a tenmás card for €2 from the machines or the TITSA desk and top it up with any amount: fares are cheaper than paying the driver, especially on long intercity runs such as the airport to Santa Cruz or Puerto de la Cruz, and one card can be tapped for several passengers. Without a card you pay the driver (change may not be available for notes over €10) or use the ten+ Móvil app. Airport lines are 40 (Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas, Costa Adeje), 10 (Santa Cruz), 343 (the express linking both island airports with Puerto de la Cruz, and running south to Costa Adeje), 415 (El Fraile, San Isidro) and the 711 night service. The 343 runs to a sparse timetable, so check departures against your landing time rather than assuming a bus will be waiting.
Taxi scams & safety in Tenerife
Spain regulates taxis tightly and Tenerife is a low-risk airport: fares are metered, the rank outside arrivals is marshalled, and drivers are licensed. Take the next car in the queue rather than accepting an approach inside the terminal. Two legitimate charges surprise visitors and are not scams — the supplement after 22:00, and per-item luggage charges — so check the tariff card displayed in the vehicle rather than assuming you are being overcharged. The genuine risk here is car hire: always photograph the vehicle from every angle before leaving the lot, and be wary of counters offering a heavily discounted rate with a large fuel or excess deposit attached. Local firms such as Cicar and Autoreisen quote insurance-inclusive rates and are the safer default.
Step-free access in Tenerife
The island bus network reaches most resorts from the airport, but not every vehicle is adapted.
- TITSA runs the public buses from Tenerife South across the island. Some, but not all, of the fleet is wheelchair accessible — you cannot assume the next bus will be.
- Where a bus is adapted, it takes a chair up to 750 mm wide and 1300 mm long, with a combined chair-and-passenger weight up to 300 kg.
Because you cannot tell in advance which vehicle will turn up, a pre-booked adapted transfer is the dependable choice for the southern resorts, particularly with an evening arrival when services thin out.
Getting from TFS to Golf del Sur
Ten minutes from the runway to the first tee
Golf del Sur is not a town in the usual sense. It is a planned resort of apartment complexes, villas and two golf courses spread around the coast of San Miguel de Abona, roughly 9 km by road from Tenerife South Airport. The approach is short and simple: out of the airport, a stretch of the TF-1 motorway west, then down into the resort past El Guincho. A car does it in about a quarter of an hour, and the bus is not much slower once it is moving.
That proximity changes the usual maths. On a 60-km transfer the bus saves you a fortune; here the gap between the cheapest and most expensive sensible options is measured in tens of euros, not hundreds. The real question is how much kit you are carrying.
Line 415, the only direct bus
TITSA line 415 runs between San Isidro and El Fraile via the airport and Las Galletas, and it is the one public service that threads through Golf del Sur itself. Coming from the terminal it calls at El Guincho, Golf del Sur, Farway Village, Sand Club, Pueblo Primavera, Golf Plaza and Los Cardones, so most complexes are within a short walk of a stop. TITSA's current timetable data shows the first stop in the resort reached about ten minutes after leaving the airport.
The frequency is the thing to plan around. On weekdays the 415 leaves the airport at 05:55, 06:30 and 07:10, then hourly from 08:10 to 20:10, with a last run at 21:20. Saturdays and Sundays are thinner: 05:55, 06:30, 08:10, 09:10, 11:10, 13:15, 14:15, 15:10, 16:10, 18:10, 19:10 and 21:20. Miss one at the wrong time of a weekend and the wait can stretch past an hour and a half.
The single fare to Golf del Sur is listed at €2.45. TITSA sells single tickets on board and charges by distance; a contactless bank card is the safest way to pay, and a ten+ stored-value card brings the per-trip price down if you will use buses again during the stay.
The rank, the meter and the golf bag
Taxis wait at the marshalled rank outside arrivals, and on this run the meter barely gets going. The published Canary tariff used at TFS is a €2.10 airport supplement, a €3.85 flag fall and €1.35 per kilometre by day, rising to €4.25 and €1.55 a kilometre from 22:00 to 06:00 and at weekends. For nine kilometres that works out at roughly €18 by day and €20 at night, and guides that track the airport put the typical fare at €20–25 once you include the drive to the far side of the resort.
For two people with a full golf bag each, the taxi is the obvious answer. The bus will take a bag if there is room, but an hourly local with a narrow aisle is not where you want to wrestle a tour bag on a busy morning.
Booking ahead: certainty more than savings
Pre-booked private transfers to Golf del Sur start at about €42–46 for a four-seat car, on prices listed by Mytransfers, Suntransfers and Hoppa this month. That is more than double the meter. What the extra buys is a car matched to your load: specify golf bags when booking and you get a vehicle with the boot space for them, which the next taxi in the queue cannot promise. Groups of four with clubs often find a minivan quote competitive with two taxis.
Shared shuttles also serve the resort from about €9.50–12 per person. They make several drops, so they suit a solo traveller with a suitcase better than a couple, for whom the taxi is close in price and quicker.
Landing after the last 415
The final 415 leaves at 21:20, and a good share of UK and Irish flights land later than that. There is no night bus through Golf del Sur, so late arrivals come down to a taxi from the queue or a car booked in advance. Because the fare is small either way, this is one airport where landing at midnight does not carry much of a penalty: the night tariff adds only a couple of euros on a trip this short.
Going back for an early flight
For the return, the 415 runs towards the airport from early morning too, but its hourly rhythm makes timing fiddly for a morning departure. Most residents of the resort simply ring a taxi or ask reception to book one the evening before; at this distance it is quick enough that you can leave later than you would from Las Américas.
