Heraklion International Airport (Nikos Kazantzakis) to Analipsi
Analipsi is about 20 km east of Heraklion Airport. Cheapest is the KTEL coastal coach (up to €3.90, every ~30 minutes); fastest is a taxi or booked car, roughly 20–25 minutes.

Analipsi is a beach resort just west of Hersonissos, close enough to the airport that a car gets you there in about 20 minutes. KTEL's coastal coaches pass through every half hour or so for a few euros, and taxis and pre-booked cars cost little more than €30–40. The choice mostly comes down to the hour you land and how far your hotel is from the main road.

Buying tickets in Heraklion
Heraklion is served by KTEL city buses (lines including 6, 11 and 12) from the stop just outside Arrivals to the central bus station, roughly 15-20 minutes. A ticket costs about €1.60 from the kiosk or vending machine at the airport, or around €2.50 if bought from the driver onboard, so buy before boarding to save money. Machines take cash and card; keep small change for onboard purchases. Keep your ticket for inspection during the ride.
Taxi scams & safety in Heraklion
Use the official taxi rank outside the terminal and confirm the fare or that the meter is running before you set off; agree a price in advance for fixed destinations to avoid haggling on arrival. Decline unsolicited offers from drivers approaching inside the hall. Watch for extra luggage charges added at the end. Greece bans private-car ride-hailing, so there is no UberX here; taxi-dispatch apps only summon licensed metered cabs, and metered fares are honest when the meter is used.
Getting from HER to Analipsi
A twenty-minute hop
Analipsi is one of the closest beach resorts to Heraklion Airport: about 20 km east along the north coast, just before Hersonissos, with Anissaras on its eastern edge. Its hotels are spread along a long sand-and-shingle beach below the old national road. With no city to cross, this is a short transfer, and the deciding question is less about speed than about how long you are prepared to wait for a bus.
Catching the coastal coach
KTEL Heraklion–Lasithi runs the coastal coaches between Heraklion's Bus Station A and Hersonissos and Malia, and KTEL's own stop list includes "(Main Street) Analipsi" and a stop called "Airport" on the same corridor. The winter timetable valid from 15 October 2026 shows Heraklion–Hersonissos departures roughly every 30 minutes from 06:00, with the last at 00:15 (Monday to Saturday; Sunday is similar). Analipsi is on the way. Crete Direct lists the full Heraklion–Hersonissos fare at €3.90, and Analipsi, being shorter, should not cost more.
From the terminal, the simplest plan is to walk out to the main road and wait at the KTEL airport stop for an eastbound coastal coach, telling the driver "Analipsi". If you would rather start from the terminus, take city bus line 1 from outside arrivals into Heraklion (about €1.20 from a kiosk, more if bought on board), then board an eastbound coach at Bus Station A. That doubles the time but guarantees a seat.
The coach stops on Analipsi's main street, not at hotel doors. Some hotels are a short walk downhill; others are a kilometre or more along the beach road.
Taxi or transfer for a short run
Official white taxis queue outside arrivals. Crete Direct's August 2026 airport guide describes the taxis as working on fixed rates from the airport and lists Hersonissos at €35–45; Analipsi is a few kilometres short of that, so a fare a little below the Hersonissos figure is likely. Agree the price before you set off, and expect a 25–30% supplement between 01:00 and 05:00.
Pre-booked transfers compete closely here. One broker quoted a standard sedan from the airport to Analipsi at about €33 for a July 2026 arrival, with tolls and waiting covered, and a premium sedan at around €40. On a route this short, the main advantage of booking is not price but a guaranteed car when the rank queue builds after several charter flights land at once.
For groups the arithmetic is simple. Four people on the coach pay four fares and still have to carry bags from the main street; one taxi or booked car costs about €30–40 in total and stops at reception. Two adults travelling light are the only group for whom the bus clearly wins, and only in daylight.
Hotel loops and the 14:00 bus
KTEL also runs a hotel service that tours the Analipsi and Anissaras resorts by name: Stella Village, Lyttos Beach, Anissa Beach, Zorbas Village, Royal Mare, Annabelle and others. The timetable valid from 21 August 2026 shows a single daily departure from Heraklion at 14:00, with return runs in the morning. It is handy if your hotel is on the list and your flight lands around midday, but it is one bus a day and may not run once the season winds down, so do not build your arrival around it without checking.
Night arrivals
Coastal coaches run until after midnight on KTEL's current timetable (the last Heraklion–Hersonissos departure is 00:15), but those times are from Bus Station A, not the airport, and a late flight plus a city bus change is a gamble. After about 23:00 the taxi rank or a pre-booked car is the sensible choice for a 20-minute ride, even with the night supplement.
Quick checks
- Buy KTEL tickets at the bus station or from the conductor; city bus tickets are cheaper from a kiosk than on board.
- Confirm the taxi price in euros before the luggage goes in.
- If your hotel is in Anissaras, say so; it is the next settlement east and the driver may otherwise stop in central Analipsi.
