Gran Canaria Airport to Taurito
Taurito is about 53 km from Gran Canaria Airport. Global bus 91 runs there directly on morning departures for €6.35, about an hour; a taxi takes around 45 minutes and costs roughly €77–88.

Taurito is a small resort tucked into its own ravine between Playa del Cura and Puerto de Mogán, built around a single beach and a lido-style pool complex. Families like it because everything is close. Getting there from the airport is less simple than the size suggests: the direct bus only serves it on some departures, and the meter on a 53-km run adds up.

Buying tickets in Las Palmas
There is no train on Gran Canaria. Two bus operators matter: Global runs the green intercity guaguas including every airport line, and Guaguas Municipales runs the yellow city buses inside Las Palmas only. Airport routes are line 60 to Las Palmas (€2.30 to San Telmo, €2.95 to Santa Catalina), line 66 south to San Agustín, Playa del Inglés (€3.50) and Faro de Maspalomas (€4.05), and the 91 express west to Puerto Rico (€5.45) and Puerto de Mogán (€6.80); line 90 is a second, semi-direct option south to Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. These are single-ticket fares and can be paid on board.
Taxi scams & safety in Las Palmas
Gran Canaria's airport is straightforward and taxi fraud is uncommon: cars are metered, the rank sits directly outside arrivals, and rates are regulated. Join the official queue rather than going with anyone who approaches you in the hall. Expect roughly 20% more at night and at weekends — that is the published surcharge, not a driver inventing a number. Because the airport sits between the capital and the resorts, the most common genuine mistake is not a scam at all but taking the wrong bus terminus: line 60 ends at two different points in Las Palmas, four kilometres apart, so check which one serves your hotel before boarding. For car hire, inspect and photograph the vehicle before leaving and confirm what the excess actually is.
Step-free access in Las Palmas
Gran Canaria is an Aena airport, so the free Barrier-Free (Sin Barreras) service is the same one you get at every Spanish mainland airport.
- Request assistance at least 48 hours before departure when you book with your airline or travel agent. You can also book through the Aena website, the Aena app or by calling +34 91 321 10 00.
- Be at the meeting point at least two hours before departure. Report to your airline's check-in desk or press the call point at a signposted meeting point. On arrival, wait on board and staff will come to you.
- Staff go with you from the meeting point to your aircraft seat, through check-in, security and boarding, and on arrival from the aircraft through baggage reclaim to your chosen meeting point.
- Accessible toilets are located throughout the terminal, and Aena issues a hidden disabilities badge for passengers whose needs are not visible.
- Neither Aena nor the Global bus company states the accessibility of the airport buses. Check with Global (+34 928 252 630) before you rely on lines 1, 5, 11, 36 or 60.
Getting from LPA to Taurito
A resort at the end of the line
From Gran Canaria Airport the road runs south on the GC-1 past Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas, then west along the coast towards Mogán. Taurito sits near the end of that stretch, about 53 km from the terminal, in a narrow valley with the hotels stacked up the slopes. The drive takes around 45 minutes in normal traffic, a bit longer when the motorway around Maspalomas is busy on a Saturday changeover.
For a family with a pushchair and three cases, the details of the bus timetable matter more than the headline fare, so it is worth reading this before you choose.
The 91: direct, but only on certain runs
Global's line 91 is the express from Las Palmas to Puerto de Mogán, and it calls at the airport express stop on its way south. Only some of its journeys turn down into Taurito. On weekdays the Taurito runs leave Santa Catalina at 05:55, 06:05, 06:30, 09:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30 (plus 11:10 outside school term). Saturdays add more, with Taurito journeys roughly every half hour from 09:30 to 13:30; on Sundays and holidays they run between 09:30 and 15:30. Global publishes these times from Las Palmas, and the bus reaches the airport stop roughly half an hour later.
The fare from the airport to Taurito is €6.35, according to Global's own fare finder. It stops at Arguineguín, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Tauro and Playa del Cura on the way, and the full run takes about an hour.
Other 91 journeys, the hourly ones through the afternoon, skip Taurito and run to Puerto de Mogán via the junction above the resort. Staying on to Puerto de Mogán costs €6.80 and leaves you about 5 km beyond Taurito.
Afternoon and evening workarounds
Landing after lunch on a weekday? Two other Global options exist, both slower:
- Line 66 runs from the airport to Faro de Maspalomas every hour from 07:30 to 20:30. At Faro, line 32 continues to Taurito and Puerto de Mogán on weekdays until early evening.
- In the evening, line 1 (the all-stops route from San Telmo in Las Palmas) calls at the airport and goes all the way round the coast via Playa del Inglés, Puerto Rico and Amadores to Taurito. Its evening journeys leave San Telmo between 18:00 and 23:30. It is slow, well over an hour from the airport, but it is the one late bus that actually stops in Taurito.
Taxi: the published tariff
Aena publishes the taxi tariff at the airport: €3.85 to start and €1.35 per kilometre between 06:00 and 22:00, or €4.25 and €1.55 per kilometre at night and on holidays, plus a €2.10 airport supplement. Over 53 km that is about €77 by day and €88 at night. The rank is outside the terminal on the ground floor.
Booked transfers for families
Private transfers to Taurito are quoted at about €79 (Mytransfers) to €100 (Suntransfers) per car (four seats). In daytime that is level with or above the meter, so the reason to book is equipment: Spanish law requires child seats, and a booked car can bring the right ones, which the taxi queue cannot promise. A minivan for six to eight is usually cheaper per head than two taxis.
Shared shuttles are listed from about €16 per person. Taurito is close to the end of the coast run, so expect most of the other drops first.
Late arrivals and the return
If you land after the last line 1 has passed, the rank or a pre-booked car are the only choices, and the night tariff applies from 22:00. For the return, the 91 runs from Taurito towards the airport on several morning and afternoon journeys; Global lists departures from Taurito at 05:55 and around 08:50, 16:50 and 17:50 on weekdays, with the others leaving from Puerto de Mogán. Check the current sheet at the stop.
