Buying tickets in Alicante
C-6 to Alicante: a single costs €4.70 (from 24 July 2026). Buy it for the trip on board, or as a QR ticket in the Vectalia app. Vectalia also sells a 10-trip bono at €8.10, which is of interest mainly to residents.
Alsa coaches (Benidorm, Altea, Calpe, Dénia, Jávea, Murcia): buy in the Alsa app, at the Alsa sales point in the airport, or on board where the service allows it. Cash is accepted only at Alsa sales points, ticket machines and on the bus. Cards, PayPal and Apple Pay work in the app. The basic fare includes one suitcase in the hold (20 kg on Básica). If a flight delay makes you miss your coach, Alsa will move you to its next service free of charge within 12 hours; arrange this at the airport sales point or by phone.
Costa Azul to Torrevieja: €7.00 one way, sold online through the operator's sales page (regular.autobusing.com), which also handles changes and cancellations.

Taxi scams & safety in Alicante
The only taxis licensed to pick up at the airport rank are Elche taxis from Radio Taxi Elche (about 85% of the fleet) and Servitaxi Elche. They are white with a green stripe along the side and the Elche coat of arms on the front doors. The rank is outside arrivals on Level 0. Radio Taxi Elche has an information point in the arrivals hall, open 09:00–01:00.
Fares are metered. Trips within Elche use the city tariff (2026: €1.77 flag fall and €1.01/km on tariff 1). Longer trips use the regional interurban tariff (2026: €2.25 plus €1.46/km, or €2.80 plus €1.68/km on the special rate). An airport supplement is added: Aena states €4.25, and Elche's 2026 ordinance sets €4.55. Tolls are charged on top. Rough guides: central Alicante €24.50–27, Benidorm €83–99, Torrevieja €66–76.
- Ignore anyone in the arrivals hall offering a ride who is not at the rank or holding your booking.
- For long trips (Calpe, Dénia, Murcia, Valencia), ask for an estimate before you set off, or pre-book on the operators' websites, where the price is shown in advance.
- If you have pre-booked a taxi through an operator, Servitaxi Elche explains that the driver must still run the meter by law, but you pay the agreed booking price.
- Ask for a receipt (recibo). It shows the licence number if you need to complain or trace lost property.
Step-free access in Alicante
Aena runs the "Sin Barreras" (Barrier Free) assistance service for passengers with reduced mobility at Alicante-Elche. Request it at least 48 hours before your flight through your airline or travel agent, the Aena website or app, or by phone on +34 91 321 10 00 (07:00–00:00) or email at [email protected].
- Signposted meeting points are located inside and outside the terminal, including the car park, the arrivals forecourt and the check-in area.
- On departure, be at a meeting point at least 2 hours before the flight. An assistant takes you through check-in, security and boarding to your seat.
- On arrival, staff help you leave the aircraft, collect your luggage if needed, and take you to the meeting point you choose.
Getting from ALC to Dénia
Catching a boat, or staying under the Montgó
Dénia is at the far northern end of the Costa Blanca, about 105 km from the airport. It sits under the Montgó massif and has the ferry port with the shortest crossings from the Spanish mainland to Ibiza, Formentera and Mallorca. So the people making this trip fall into two groups: holidaymakers staying in Dénia or Les Rotes, and passengers with a ferry to catch. For the second group the main question is whether the bus gets you to the port in time. Car journey time is about 1 hour 10 minutes. The bus takes either 1½ or roughly 2 hours, depending on which departure you get.
Alsa L525: one fast run, the rest slow
Alsa's L525 (Dénia – Alicante – Aeropuerto, via Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos) is the only direct public bus. The official fare from the airport to Dénia is €15.42. The timetable differs between weekdays and weekends:
- Monday to Friday, from the airport: 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, 16:00.
- Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 09:00, 10:00, 14:00, 19:00.
The 10:00 is the one to aim for. It skips Alicante, Pedreguer and Gata and reaches Dénia bus station at 11:30, a 90-minute trip. The other departures go into Alicante first (bus station, then the ADIF-AVE rail station) and stop at Gata de Gorgos and Pedreguer, so they arrive at 10:55, 12:55, 15:55 and 17:55 on weekdays (and 20:55 for the weekend 19:00). That is just under two hours.
Boarding is upstairs, at the coach bays outside the check-in hall. The basic fare includes one case in the hold. Alsa allows a free switch to its next coach within 12 hours if a flight delay makes you miss yours. With gaps of up to three hours between departures, that matters if you also have a ferry booked.
Bus to ferry: how much margin?
Dénia bus station, on Calle José Moncho Ferrer, is inland from the port. Budget a short taxi or a walk with luggage to the ferry terminal, and allow for the operator's check-in deadline, which is usually earlier for vehicles than for foot passengers. A realistic plan: land by about 08:30, take the 10:00 express, and you can make an early-afternoon sailing. A flight landing after 14:00 on a weekday leaves only the 16:00 bus, so any ferry before about 19:00 becomes risky by public transport.
Taxi fares to the far north
Dénia is one of the longest regular trips from the airport rank. Radio Taxi Elche advertises pre-booked fares to Dénia from €140. Metered, Welcome Pickups recorded about €148 by day and €172 at night in August 2026, before tolls. The meter uses the regional interurban tariff: in 2026, €2.25 to start and €1.46 per km on the ordinary rate, rising to €2.80 and €1.68 per km on the special rate. The official cars, white with a green stripe and Elche's crest, are at the rank outside arrivals.
Private cars: flight-tracked, so a delay is covered
For a ferry connection, a pre-booked car's main advantage is that the seller tracks your flight and waits if it is late, without the bus timetable's long gaps. The route also goes straight to the port. Prices vary more than on shorter routes. At hoppa, a car to Dénia starts at around £187 (about €215), and some local operators quote nearer the taxi meter, so compare before booking. Shared between four, even the higher figure is about €54 each.
Late arrivals
The last direct bus leaves at 16:00 on weekdays and 19:00 at weekends. After that, there are two ways to save money: the Alsa coach to Benidorm (hourly, last 23:00 on weekdays, 21:00 at weekends) followed by a taxi, or a night in Alicante and the morning bus. Otherwise it is a taxi from the rank or a car booked ahead. For a ferry the next morning, a booked car at night costs a lot but is the safe choice.
Javea, Pedreguer and nearby
- Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos are stops on the slower L525 runs, so they are easy to reach directly.
- Jávea (Xàbia) has its own Alsa line, L526, with four airport departures on weekdays (09:15, 11:15, 14:15, 17:15) and three at weekends. The official fare is €14.17.
- Les Rotes and Les Marines are several kilometres from Dénia bus station. Arrange a taxi if you are staying there.
