Paphos International Airport to Kissonerga
Kissonerga is about 24 km from Paphos Airport. Buses 612 and 615 reach it for about €4, taking roughly 70–100 minutes with the change; a taxi takes about 30 minutes for roughly €45–60.

Kissonerga is the quiet village between Chloraka and Coral Bay, with banana plantations running down to a rocky shore and a coastal path that walkers and cyclists use to reach Coral Bay. It is a place people choose on purpose, usually for a villa. Getting there by bus means changing at Paphos; most arrivals with a villa booking go by car.

Buying tickets in Paphos
Paphos is the island's smaller airport and its public transport is correspondingly thin: two OSYPA (Pafos Buses) routes, both €2 paid on board by day and up to €3.50 between 21:00 and 04:00, luggage included. Route 612 runs through Kato Paphos to the Tombs of the Kings bus station in about 30 minutes, with 17 departures a day from the airport (07:30–01:00), roughly every 40–80 minutes. Route 613 goes to Karavella bus station in the upper town (Ktima) in about 40 minutes, with 12 departures a day from the airport (05:50–00:00). Everywhere beyond Paphos itself means changing at Karavella onto an intercity service. Check the board on your way out of arrivals: if the next 612 is an hour away, the rank outside is the realistic option.
Taxi scams & safety in Paphos
Taxis from the rank are licensed, and indicative fares are roughly €35–45 into Paphos, €50–65 to Coral Bay and €90–120 to Polis or Limassol. A night rate applies late in the evening, so agree the fare and ask which rate you are being charged before setting off. Buses only reach Paphos town itself, so book ahead if you land late or are heading to a villa outside town. Cyprus drives on the left and hire cars carry red number plates. One contractual point worth knowing: standard rental agreements generally forbid the unsurfaced track to Lara Bay on the Akamas, and driving it voids the insurance — take a licensed jeep tour instead.
Step-free access in Paphos
Pafos is compact and the accessible options are genuinely usable rather than theoretical.
- Pafos International is fully accessible for passengers with reduced mobility, with assistance on request.
- Cyprus runs special buses with low-gradient ramps, safety belts and air conditioning, plus taxis adapted to carry a passenger seated in a wheelchair.
- Specialist transfer companies operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles with tail lifts or ramps from the airport to the resorts.
The Kapnos shuttle between Pafos and Larnaka airports is also wheelchair accessible if you are connecting between the two.
Getting from PFO to Kissonerga
Plantations, sea path and a sleepy square
Kissonerga lies about 24 km north-west of Paphos Airport. The village centre is on the hillside above the coast road, and the land between is given over to bananas and greenhouses, with a coastal track along the shore towards Coral Bay. Accommodation is mostly villas and small complexes spread across the slope and along the coast, so exact addresses matter more than in a resort with one main street.
By car it takes about 30 minutes: the coast road from the airport past Geroskipou and Kato Paphos, up Tombs of the Kings Avenue, then on through Chloraka.
By bus, in two stages
The first stage is OSYPA route 612 from the airport to the Tombs of the Kings bus station, via Timi, Geroskipou and Kato Paphos. It runs every day of the year. Airport departures are at 07:30, 08:50, 10:10, 11:20, 12:30, 13:50, 14:50, 15:40, 17:00, 17:40, 18:20, 19:40, 20:20, 21:20, 22:20, 23:40 and 01:00.
The second stage is route 615 from the Tombs of the Kings station towards Coral Bay. OSYPA describes its route as Tombs of the Kings Avenue, then the Chloraka-to-Kissonerga coastal road, Coral Bay Avenue and Coral Bay. Daytime frequency is every 10–15 minutes; evenings from April to November every 20 minutes until 23:40, plus 00:15 and 00:40; in winter every 30 minutes until about midnight. The 615 follows the coast road, so for houses up in the village there is a walk uphill from the stop.
Fares are €2 per ticket in the daytime and €3 after 21:00, paid to the driver, and you need a ticket for each bus. That makes €4 by day. With the connection, allow about 70–100 minutes in total: the Cyprus Mail estimates 60–90 minutes to Coral Bay, and Kissonerga is a little short of that.
Walkers and cyclists
Many visitors to Kissonerga come for the coast path and the Akamas beyond Coral Bay. If you are bringing a bike in a box, the bus is not an option: book a vehicle with space for it. Walkers with a rucksack can use the 615 day to day, since it runs along the coast road between Paphos and Coral Bay every few minutes in daylight.
Taxi fare
Taxis wait to the right outside arrivals at all hours. The Cyprus Mail's 2026 airport guide gives €45–55 to Chloraka and €50–65 to Coral Bay for a taxi or transfer; Kissonerga lies between the two, so expect roughly €45–60 depending on how far up the hill you are staying. Agree the fare before you set off and have the address written down, since rural house names do not always match the map.
Pre-booking for villas
Mytransfers and Suntransfers both quote about €56–57 for a private saloon seating four. The benefit for a villa stay is that you can send the exact location in advance, and the driver arrives knowing which lane to take, not working it out in the dark on the hillside. Minivans for up to eight cost about €70 on Suntransfers, which suits two families sharing a villa. A shared shuttle seat costs from about €15 per person.
Shopping on the way in
Villa guests often want groceries before reaching a self-catering house in a small village. You can ask a taxi or booked driver to stop at a supermarket on the Tombs of the Kings road; agree any waiting charge when you agree the fare. On the bus, the change at the Tombs of the Kings station puts you close to the shops there.
Arriving late
The final 612 at 01:00 arrives at the Tombs of the Kings after the last 615 has gone, so a very late flight means the taxi rank or a booked car. Even for evening flights, the bus fares rise to €3 a ticket after 21:00.
In short
- Light luggage, daylight, no hurry: 612 and 615, €4.
- Villa on the hillside: a pre-booked car with the location pinned.
- Bike boxes: a booked van.
Most villa guests here also hire a car for the stay, since the village shops are limited and the bus runs only along the coast road. Remember that Cyprus drives on the left.
