Larnaca International Airport to Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa)
Nissi Beach is about 54 km from Larnaca Airport. The cheapest way is the Kapnos shuttle to its Nissi Avenue stop, €13, about 45–50 minutes; a taxi takes around 40 minutes for roughly €50–70.

Nissi Beach is Ayia Napa's best-known strip of sand, with a small islet you can wade out to and a row of hotels along Nissi Avenue behind it. It is on the near side of the resort coming from Larnaca, which helps. A lot of flights into Larnaca land late in the evening or in the early hours, and that, more than the distance, shapes which option makes sense.
How far is Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa) from Larnaca International Airport?
Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa) is 54 km (34 miles) from Larnaca International Airport by road, about 40 min by car outside rush hour. In a straight line it is 34 km. By public transport, Shuttle takes about 48 min and costs €13.
Every way to get there
Our verdict: Shuttle is the one to take: €13 with no change, and only about 8 minutes slower than going by car. For three or four people sharing, the taxi works out cheaper than four tickets. Timetable: Daily, first 02:30 (Fri 04:00), last 23:25; times vary by season.
What it costs for your group
The shuttle is charged per person, while a taxi is one price for the whole car — so the more of you there are, the better door-to-door value looks.

|---|---|---|---|
| Solo · 1 traveller | €13 | €50 | Shuttle |
| Couple · 2 travellers | €26 | €50 | Shuttle |
| Family of 4 · 4 travellers | €52 | €50 | Taxi |

Buying tickets in Larnaca
Cyprus has no railway. From Larnaca the cheap way into town is an ordinary city bus — Cyprus Public Transport routes 425 and 429: €2.70 cash paid to the driver (€2.00 with a Motion card), or €4.70 cash on night journeys between 21:00 and 04:00. Larnaca timetables changed on 19 October 2026, so check current departure times on publictransport.com.cy. The stop is outside the Departures hall at the far left end of the terminal, not outside Arrivals, which catches most first-time arrivals out. For everywhere else there are coaches: Kapnos Airport Shuttle to Nicosia (€9), Ayia Napa (about €13) and Paphos, and the separately-run Limassol Airport Express (€10 adult, €5 child). Buy coach tickets online in advance or at the desk in arrivals; luggage travels in the hold.
Taxi scams & safety in Larnaca
Cyprus taxis run a day tariff and a night tariff that starts at 20:30, raising both the flag-fall and the per-kilometre rate. A great many charter flights land after that, so a higher fare late at night is usually legitimate rather than a scam — but it is also why you should establish the basis of the charge before setting off. For long resort runs drivers normally quote a fixed price instead of metering; agree the figure and the exact hotel before the boot opens. The Limassol route is where this matters most, with typical fares of about €70–90. Use the rank outside arrivals rather than accepting an offer inside. If you hire a car, remember Cyprus drives on the left, hire cars carry red plates, and most agreements have specific terms about crossing the Green Line — read them before you attempt it.
Step-free access in Larnaca
Cyprus is better set up than most Mediterranean destinations, and the airport end is the easy part.
- Larnaka International is fully accessible for passengers with reduced mobility, with assistance available on request through the airport.
- Most of Larnaca's modern bus fleet is accessible, with boarding ramps and dedicated spaces for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The airport shuttle bus is wheelchair accessible.
- Accessible taxis that carry a passenger seated in their wheelchair operate across the island, and several specialist operators run vehicles with tail lifts or ramps.
For the resort towns, book the accessible vehicle in advance — the specialist operators are reliable but not numerous, and they fill up in season.
Getting from LCA to Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa)
Read this if you land after dark
The road from Larnaca Airport to Nissi Beach is the A3 motorway east, about 54 km by Mytransfers' measure, followed by the Nissi Avenue exit on the western side of Ayia Napa. In a car it takes about 40 minutes. What changes from one traveller to the next is not the road but the clock: the Kapnos shuttle runs until 23:25, public buses do not go there from the airport at all, and taxis charge more at night. So the questions are what time you land and how many of you there are.
Kapnos to Nissi Avenue
Kapnos Airport Shuttle runs the scheduled shared service from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa every day. Its own route guide gives a fare of €13 per adult, one 20 kg suitcase plus hand luggage included, and a scheduled journey of about 45 minutes. Departures run from 02:30 to 23:25, with the first departure on Fridays at 04:00. Times shift with the season, so check the timetable for your date before booking.
Kapnos sets down at two places in Ayia Napa: Ayia Napa Square on Makariou III, and Nissi Avenue 80 in front of the Sunwing Sandy Bay hotel. For Nissi Beach, choose Nissi Avenue. The beach itself is a little under a kilometre to the west of that stop, so most of the hotels along the avenue are a short walk with a wheeled case; the ones right on the beach are about 10 minutes away on foot.
The counter is in the arrivals hall near the bus exit, and the coach leaves from the stop outside. You can book online until about 60 minutes before departure, or buy at the counter or from the driver if seats remain. Cancelling at least 24 hours ahead costs €1 per ticket.
Public buses: not from the airport
Cyprus Public Transport's route 425 from the airport goes to central Larnaca and on towards Dhekelia, not to Ayia Napa. Since 3 August 2026 a cash single on urban routes costs €2.70, or €4.70 between 21:00 and 04:00. Reaching Nissi Beach that way means changing in Larnaca for an onward service, which is slower and, for anyone with luggage, not worth the small saving over Kapnos.
Taxis: day and night
Taxis wait to the right as you leave the arrivals hall, at Level 0, around the clock. The Cyprus Mail's September 2026 airport guide gives €50–70 for a taxi or private transfer to Ayia Napa, depending on the vehicle and exact address; Nissi Beach sits at the near end, which keeps fares towards the lower part of that range in daytime. Night rates are higher. On long resort runs drivers commonly quote a fixed price rather than running the meter, so agree the figure and the hotel name before loading the bags.
For four people splitting a taxi, the cost per head comes close to a Kapnos ticket, and you arrive at reception rather than a roadside stop.
Pre-booking: the small-hours answer
Private transfers to Nissi Beach are quoted at about €72 (Mytransfers, premium car for up to three) to €82 (Mytransfers and Suntransfers, saloon for up to four). That is at or above the taxi range, but the price is agreed before you fly and covers a landing at 03:00 as much as one at 15:00. If your flight is due after the last Kapnos departure, that certainty is the main reason to book.
Suntransfers also sells shared shuttle seats from about €22 per person, door to door, but Kapnos is cheaper if your hotel is near Nissi Avenue.
A rough guide by arrival time
- Landing between about 02:00 and 23:00, travelling light: Kapnos, €13.
- Landing late with a group of three or four: the taxi rank, price agreed first.
- Landing after the last coach and wanting no negotiation: a pre-booked car.
The return trip
Kapnos runs in the other direction from the same two Ayia Napa stops and recommends a coach that reaches the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight. Be at the Nissi Avenue stop about 10 minutes before departure. Hire cars are available at Larnaca too; remember Cyprus drives on the left.
